Closer Look At: World Courses

Dear Travelers,

Today we bring you what is effectively the second part of last week's SOGA TOUR announcement.

The new features introduced in these announcements go hand in hand. In fact, the SOGA TOUR wouldn’t work without the World Course, and vice versa.

WHAT IS THE WORLD COURSE?

On the one hand, the World Course is a weekly visit to the nine new holes in Shot Online. On the other hand, these courses must be played in order to win the treasures required to upgrade Odelia Plus and Chronos X.

As the title suggests, the courses are located in well-known attractions all over the world:

- Neuschwanstein Castle (Germany)
- Eiffel Tower (France)
- Statue of Liberty (USA)

HOW CAN I JOIN THE WORLD COURSE?

When you play the SOGA TOUR you will encounter two new NPCs on the Square, Hugin und Munin. Apart from a new weekly quest, you'll find two further options in Hugin's menu, the "Material Shop" and the "Special Enhancement".

In the Material Shop you can buy the following items:

[Map] Plane Ticket Germany

[Map] Plane Ticket France

[Map] Plane Ticket USA

[Map] EXP Exchange Jewel

[Map] Master Smith Jewel

Like all other maps in the game, the plane tickets have to be sealed using treasures. The treasure required to seal plane tickets is called a "Stamp" and can be won by playing the SOGA TOUR.

[Treasure] Stamp

Depending on your classification in the SOGA TOUR (Green category < Black Category), you can win between 5 and 15 stamps. 10 of these stamps are required to turn a plane ticket map into a plane ticket. Once you have acquired a plane ticket to Germany, France, or the USA, you and up to three other players can visit that particular course.

ON THE COURSES

Each particular leg of the World Course can only be entered via the waiting room. Thus, players have to open a regular game room first. The player who created that room can then use a plane ticket to travel with his teammates to their chosen destination.

Each character can participate in the World Course four times per week.

What are the advantages of the World Course?

Depending on the location of the course, for each hole on which a player achieves PAR or better, he or she will win the local treasure:

 Neuschwanstein: Beer
Eiffel Tower: Macaron
Statue of Liberty: Hamburger

After completing a round of three holes, each player receives a bag of jewels containing 1-3 local treasures. These treasures can be used to seal the above-mentioned maps:

[Map] EXP Exchange Jewel:
4 of each World Course treasure

[Map] Master Smith Jewel:
10 of each World Course treasure

HUGIN QUEST AND SPECIAL ENHANCEMENT

Each week NPC Hugin will offer a new quest under the title "Hugin's EXP Exchange".
In order to complete that quest, Hugin expects you to give him an "EXP Exchange Jewel", which you can create from a "[Map] EXP Exchange Jewel". In exchange for that jewel, Hugin will give you EXP equivalent to 3% of your current level.

The second map (the blue one), has to do with the so-called "Special Enhancement".
The Special Enhancement is another new menu option at NPC Hugin. It's used solely to upgrade Odelia Plus (Quest: "Get your Odelia Plus") and, later on in the game, Chronos X. (See screenshot below.)

While items can be improved considerably by using the Special Enhancement Feature, it's also possible for the upgrade to fail.
When that happens, the Odelia/Cleo won't be destroyed, but the blue jewel will disappear from your inventory. Each item has a maximum of ten upgrade levels.

Summary

• Like the SOGA TOUR, the World Course can be played from level 110.
• The World Course can be played by each character 4x per week.
• All maps are fully tradeable until their seals are removed. Unsealed maps (such as plane tickets) are bound to a character.
• A World Course must be started by the creator of the room. If the creator of the room doesn't own any plane tickets, the room has to be rebuilt by a player who does.
• If a player in the room has already reached the weekly limit of four participations, he or she cannot join the World Course with that character. Such a player is marked by a red, rather than a blue, plane symbol.
• A Mulligan cannot be used on the World Course.
• The World Course settings are as follows: 3 Holes, Stroke, 60 seconds, and PARx2
• The weekly limit is reset on Monday at Sunday at 1 a.m. (this may vary due to the switch from summer to winter time and vice versa.)
• World Course rooms can be joined as a spectator.
• EXP can be obtained on the World Course and EXP items are applied as normal.
• NG cannot be obtained on the World Course.
• The EXP amount received on the World Course is the same as that received on the Bianca Fjord course.
• The Hole-in-One notification is turned off on the World Course (Difficulty: 1.5 balls.)
• Caddie EXP can be obtained.

Best regards,

Your Shot Online Team
