HackShield issues

SO Community,

A lot of users are experiencing HackShield errors. The error could be caused by many things. Please follow these directions to make sure the problem is not caused by your computer hardware/software.

Anti-virus: disable any anti-virus programs you may have or have it grant Shot Online full access.

Firewalls: disabling or allowing Shot Online on your firewall will fix most of the issues.

Router: if you are behind a router, please go to your router settings and make sure ports 5000-8800 are opened. These ports are needed to run Shot Online.

Background programs: close ALL programs that is running in the background. (Instant messengers, internet browsers, etc.)

After doing these, try connecting to Shot Online again. If it does not work, please read below for further assistance.

AhnReport:

What is AhnReport?
-It is a program which collects a user’s system information and provides AhnLab counselors with information so that they can understand and respond to client’s problems promptly and accurately.
-AhnReport only collects the information of AhnLab products (HackShield) and subjects that affect the use of these products.
-The collected information is used only to solve problems of using AhnLab products and track new viruses.
-The collected information collected by AhnReport is not released without a user’s permission or acknowledgement.

What kind of information does it collect?
-List of products and files that installed system setting and operating system.
-Product related information in the registry information.
-Event history if anti-virus product is installed.
-Content of files (win.ini, system.ini, etc) referred while booting.
-Name of program that is executed while booting.
-List of program/processor that is currently executing.
-Uninstall information.

How to use AhnReport?
-Download AhnReport from link above.
-Open AhnReport.exe -> File -> Save
-After clicking save, a window will pop up where you can input your name, email address, and company. You may enter other information if needed.
-Check the “Compress” box and push save at the bottom of the window.
-Name the saved file name as your user id only.
-After all the files are compressed, send a email to [email protected] with these information.
