ALL: Semi Pro test information

Date Feb 17, 2009 Views 8,466
SO Community,

We would like to explain the Semi Pro test in more detail. A lot of players may be confused about how it works and how the passing score is determined.

Cut Off Standard
- The top 50% of the qualified players
- Meet the requirements of:
1. Be in the top 50% of total participants.
2. Score at least 68 (-4) or better.
3. If any players who has the same score as the last person who qualified, they will also pass the test.
(Getting under 68 (-4) does not guarantee a pass.)

Example:
- 1000 players who took the test
- 500 players has a chance to pass the test if they meet these requirements
1. Player is within the top 50% of total participants
2. Player must score a least 68 (-4) to be qualified
3. Any player who is tied with the highest score of the top 50% will also pass
- If you meet these requirements, you will pass the test and become a Semi Pro

Vallar Semi Pro test on 2009-02-14
- 499 players whom took the test
- 249 players has a chance to pass the test if they meet the requirements
- 235 players scored -4 or better so they have been passed as Semi Pro
- 15 more players could've have passed the test if they've scored 68 (-4) or better

Hollid Semi Pro test on 2009-02-14
- 58 players whom took the test
- 29 players has a chance to pass the test if they meet the requirements
- 29th player scored a 62 (-10)
- The cut off standard for this last Semi Pro test was 62 (-10)
- 30th, 31st, 32nd, and 33rd place also scored a 62 (-10) so they tied with the player at the cut off standard. These players who scored 62 (-10) also passed the test.

We've had this system ever since the Semi Pro and Tour Pro test was released. There were no changes in the system at all. The more participants in a test, the more players has a chance to pass the test if they meet the requirements.

We apologize for the confusion this may have caused for some players and we hope this post will help everyone understand how the tests work.

From now on, we will post how many total players took the test, how many players has the chance to pass the test, what was the cut off standard, and the results.

Thanks,
