[DETAILS] New updates tonight

Date Feb 21, 2012 Views 20,971
Hello Everyone!

We'd like to take a bit of time here to go over some of the new updates coming and help everyone understand how stuff will work before it gets here. In that vein, here are some specifics and details about things to come!

Updates coming in Maintenance

Achievement System

The new Achievement System allows players to complete different in-game goals and accumulate Achievement Points and different Titles as rewards. We will have 600 Achievements available after maintenance for you to get started on and will be adding more and different styles of Achievements during mainteances as we get them.

There are 3 main tabs in the Achievement Information Screen; Summary, Rounding, and Course.
That screen is accessible by using ALT+U from anywhere in the game.

The first tab is the Summary tab, which displays your at-a-glance Achievement information such as your current Achievement Points for each category, Current and Recent Titles information, and overall number of titles gained in each category (bronze, silver, gold depending on difficulty).

When you start gaining new titles, you can choose which one to display while in the square. As an example, I am using the "Gleig HIO Player" title below that you gain after making a Hole In One on Gleiger course.

The second is the Rounding tab, which shows you the Achievements that can be gained from any course in the game. These goals are not course-specific and include goals such as playing different game modes or hole amounts, as well as for generic goals like "First Birdie" and so on. There are two sections in this tab, Rounding List 1 and Rounding List 2. Rounding List one has more easily achieveable goals, and Rounding List 2 has more difficult goals or goals that require more repetitions.

The third is the Course tab, which shows you the Achievements that can be gained from each individual course. There are currently 30 Achievements per course, and more will be added in the coming months. These goals include things like getting 4 birdies in a row or making a Hole In One on the course. Every course in Shot Online has it's own set of Achievements, other than CT Park Public and the Random Course versions.

Theurgia Combination System

Much like the other combination systems, this will allow players to combine tradeable, non-character bound Theurgia versions and possibly gain better Theurgia versions as a result.

To use this system, just visit NPC Clelic and select "Combine Theurgia P Series" from his menu options. Once you do that, the combination screen will appear and allow you to place your Theurgia versions (only same, full, and tradeable versions can be combined) and Warranty/Success tickets for the combination. Once everything is set, click on the "Combine" button on the bottom of the screen to start the combination process.

Once the combination process completes, the items used will disappear and a new screen will appear showing the outcome from the combination. In addition, the new item created will automatically be placed into your inventory. To combine more items, you have the option to "Continue" rather than start all over again with the process.

Here is a breakdown of which Theurgia versions can be combined, and what the possible outcomes can be:

*Notice: All durability versions can be combined, as long as both used are full, tradeable, and the same durability. The item gained as a result of the combination process will be the same durability as those turned in. I.E: If you use 250 durability items in the combination process, the resulting item will be 250 durability. Same for 50 durability and others.

As you can see above, a new item "Theurgia P45" is possible to be gained when combining Theurgia P25 versions. This new item will only be available through the Combination System, and will not be for sale directly. When a player gains one of these items from combining, a system message will be shown on top of the game screen saying who gained it as a way to congratulate players who take a risk and gain the top reward!

Set Clothing Combination System
NOTE: This system will open Friday!

The Set Clothes Combining System is a new system that will allow players to trade in permanent versions of clothing to gain new clothes that have extra bonuses for using pieces of the same "Set". This system will be accessible through NPC Fricka, and will allow you to combine two of the same permanent clothes versions into one piece of "Set" clothing. Each piece (cap, pants, top, glove, shoes) can be combined in this way to complete your clothing "Set" and gain the extra bonuses that come along with them. The more pieces of the same set you wear, the more bonuses you gain!

So visit NPC Fricka and choose the new option available from her menu once you get two of the same new Spring 2012 clothing pieces as shown below.

After selecting the option, a new window will appear allowing you to select and combine the clothes into a new "Set" clothing piece.

Once you have chosen and accepted the clothes to be combined, the process completes and you are given the new Set Clothes 1 piece depending on which clothing item you combined. Each clothing piece (cap, shoes, pants, etc) can be combined to make their "Set" version which has enhanced benefits on the item and also adds to your Set total to add more bonuses for wearing them all at the same time!

The more pieces of Set Clothes you wear, the better the bonuses get. For wearing 2 pieces you gain Skill Stat +1. For wearing 3, you gain another Skill Stat Point, so it changes to +2 bonus Skill. At 4 pieces you gain another Skill Stat Point which gives you +3 bonus Skill, an extra Practice Density Point, and also +10% Bonus EXP! To gain the best benefit though, you have to collect all of the pieces :)

NOTICE: Only the new clothing series introduced after maintenance will be usable with this system. So Tidy, Hiemal, Adaptable, etc clothing series from the past will NOT work with this system. Each new clothing series released after this maintenance will be combineable with this system. Please note that the KP version is the only version that will come from combining clothing types; if you combine two IK versions you will get KP and if you combine PI and IK together you will still get KP.

Equipment Character Type Changing System

The Equipment Character Type Changing System is coming in to allow players to change their existing items from one toon type to another. This will be allowed for both Clubs (NPC Clelic) and Clothes (NPC Fricka).

NOTICE: The Clubs Character Type Change System will be added during another mainteance, due to issues present we cannot update that system during tonight's scheduled maintenance. However, the Clothing System will be present as scheduled.

The process is very simple, just select the option from the NPC Menu and the new window appears for the Type Change to take place. All you need to do is place the item to be changed into the top slot, and place the Change Ticket item into the spot below, then choose which character type you wish to change it to. Once that's done, hit the "Change" button and the item's character type will change!

*NOTICE: Costume items will also be able to be changed with this system!
So that's what we have for you at present, we hope everyone is looking forward to the new updates tonight!

Let us know if you have any questions via the DQ&A Board.

Thanks

The Shot Online Team
