Patch Notes for 10/30/12!!

Hello Shot Online Community!


We are excited to announce the patch notes for the upcoming maintenance on October 30, 2012! Here, we wil include all the details regarding the upcoming changes/updates and give a quick explanation on why we've decided to make such changes. 
 
Before getting started with the details, we'd like to let everyone know that the next maintenance will be starting at 3:00 PM server time, 10/30/12. The upcoming maintenance is estimated to last about 11 ~ 12 hours.

User Interface Renewal

The new update on the User Interface is aesthetically refreshing and brings a more modern look. We have decided to update the new windows into a design where it would look modern look than the past.  Every single window has been changed to a way where we feel the design and graphics keeps up with modern gaming standards. The whole skins of the game has changed to a point where it will look like you’re playing a brand new game but with the same exact functions as it held before so you wouldn’t need to learn any new keys.




After achieving certain titles, your character portrait for your Personal Record Window(Alt+P) will be changed.

Chat Functions

- We have decided to add more functions to the chat so that you can select the font size along with adjust the size of chatting window.
-In the past, there used to be a pop-up chat function you could use to move the chat window around but we will be removing that and adding the adjustable transparent chat window. The Chat window in the past was a hindrance for you to not utilize the potential maximize screen view but with the transparent chat being there, you will be able to see and chat at the same time!

New Copy+Paste Function!
All you would need to do is highlight the chat that you want copied
(by pressing CTRL+A, or by dragging their mouse cursor over the text)
and copying it (by pressing CTRL+C)& paste it (by pressing CTRL+V)
into the desired chat that you would want to paste it to.
 
Toggle Through Different Chat Types
You can now toggle through different types of chat by pressing Alt + ← or Alt + → to switch back from
Normal chat to Private, Guild, Students, Graduation Class and the Lesson Class.

Also, if you leave your chat idle for a while in game,
it will automatically disappear when idle and reappear when you try to type or when there is a new message.
(This applies while rounding as well)

We also made changes to the rounding UI/Screen
(New character info/shot update UI and Mini-Map UI)



Your character portrait will get a huge update.
(It will now be displayed in 3D and will be easily distinguishable by your equipped clothes and/or costumes)




In the past, looking at the format of the game,
it would be very difficult to tell whose turn it would be when playing with four players
so we have decided to overhaul the past design and replace it with a simpler method.

When rounding, players will see their name / shot info panel on the upper left hand corner move forward
  when their turn comes up. With this, we are hoping the players to easily distinguish whose turn it is.

Mini-Map Renewal
We know about the mini-map of some courses being a bit outdated and difficult to read,
but we have heard your voices and we are under plans to update these mini-maps in the near future.

Square Renewal!



Based on the images that we have provided,
players will notice that we have decided to change the whole design along with location of buildings and NPCs.




We felt that this was highly necessary because the past square would’ve created a path
that would make it a long and unnecessary journey to get from one point of the square to the other. 


 We also decided to change where the NPC’s would be located at.
The reason for this was that we wanted to minimize the time it took to visit the NPC’s
so that unnecessary time wouldn’t be wasted to visit one NPC and then go to the other.

Please see the updated World-Map below to know the new NPC / Building locations.

With the new Square, our goal was to make every NPC and building easily noticeable
as well as to visiting the NPCs more time-efficient and comfortable.




Game Functions

We have also added a separate function called: Escape



Players in the past were stuck and would be moved by the GM.
Now there is an Emergency Escape Button where it will take you straight to NPC Ceridwen.

Sound Renewal

 With the User Interface renewal, we felt like it was highly necessaryto improve the quality
of the current 49 sounds and volume mastering so you will be able to notice
the significant change and the accuracy of sounds in the game simulating to how it is in real-life.

 Although we will have already improved the current sounds in the game,
we plan on implementing an additional 120 sounds in the near future.

We will also be improving the existing 49 sounds that are currently in the game along with adjusting volume mastering
In the near future, we will have the second renewal for sounds with hopes to add 120 more sounds and voices.
 
We have also updated the sound of clubs when they hit the ball.
After testing this, we feel that the sounds now have a more accurate sound
to how it sounds like when watching golf in real life.

Motion Update

 - We have decided to add two dancing motion. This can be done by pressing Alt+7 or Alt+8 inside the square. Along with that, we have decided to refine some of our already existing motions. (Estimated to be about 500 various motions)

Brand New Guild House

A lot of have you been anticipating this but we will be planning on opening
the brand new Gleiger Guild House



We will be having a coupon reset during this upcoming maintenance so that
current guilds will be able to have fresh start and compete for the brand new Gleiger Guild House.

We will also be adding to the Guild House Levels 9 & 10.

Guild House Level 9


 The new Guild House Level 9 will allow for guilds to have 1.65 times exp. on guild house associated course
along with 1.35 times exp. when accompanied by guild member on the associated course.  
 
We have decided to improve the stats that guild members can have by obtaining the Guild House hat which has socket of +1
 
The new Level 9 Guilds will also have an additional benefit of gaining +5 Practice Density when completing 18 holes on the associated course with a score 100 or better.

Guild House Level 10


 -The new Level 10 Guild House will allow for guilds to have 1.7 times exp. for the guild house associated course along with 1.4
times exp. when accompanied by guild member on the associated course.

 -The difference between the Level 9 and the Level 10 Guild House is that the Guild House hat will have a socket of +2 on them.

 -  The Practice Density will be set at +10 when completing 18 holes on the associated course with a score 100 or better
Now, we will be introducing a brand new title for players to achieve!

New Title

 Grand Royal Pro I

 - Level: Level 110
 - Acquired by:  Grand Royal Pro I Quest
 - The benefits of gaining this title will be that players that achieve this title will be able to gain more title EXP and more EXP by accompanied
-If you have reached Grand Royal Pro, there will be a Grand Royal Pro Buff icon near the mini-map, while rounding to show that players are going to be benefiting the extra exp when rounding with you!

We are currently working to add more titles in the game as early as next year!

New Course

 As we have talked about in the past, we will be releasing a brand new course called
the Hyundai Song Gia Course which will be categorized as an Intermediate Course.

The Hyundai Song Gia Course is modeled after a real-life course in the country of Vietnam.



Although the new course is set as an intermediate course,
we haven’t forgotten about the large amount of high level players
that we have and so we are currently working on making a course for high-level players. 


System
 - We have also decided to extend the number of quests that players can see in the quest window from 10 to 15 quest lines which will now allow players to now complete more quests at any given time.
 - We have also lower the mission scores of weekly quests as well for the following levels:

 -A lot of you didn’t like waiting 30 days it took to take the next Graduation Test after passing one. So we have reduced the waiting time to be 1 day after you have acquired the previous title.
 
We have noticed that our previous designs for characters were a bit dull in which we have decided bring in a new refreshing design of every character.
 - The design for the character’s face was a bit outdated so we have undergone a whole new Character face renewal. Below, you will see the pre-update character faces on the left and the right are the updated character faces!


 
 - We have also changed basic default school uniform for brand new players when they enter into the game for the first time.




 - Some players like to do this but we have even changed the basic default underwear that players have when no clothes are equipped.



We have noticed that when new players would try to create their first characters
in the past had a bit of roadblocks that would delay you from your new adventure in the game.
So we have decided that new characters will be immediately sent to tutorial right away
to avoid unnecessary complications that were there before.

On top of this, we have decided to clearly display the character removal waiting time on the character-selection screen.
When you would delete a character, you would never know when the exact date of the removal would be.
Now, there will be a timer displayed that will count down by the hours until your character would be deleted.






After the maintenance on 10/30/12, we will be working to refine some of the updated contents by reviewing player feed-back.
