GNGWC 2012 NA Regional Final with GM Cloudy

Here is the quick re-cap of the GNGWC 2012 North America Regional Finals. 

 

9 players competed for the 3 tickets to Busan, South Korea for the GNGWC 2012 Grand Finals. Every match was breathe-taking and even when the score difference was minuscule, all the players did not forget to congratulate/thank each other. It was a very heartwarming sight. 

 

8BallExpress and DrGood had to face each other in the first round despite the fact that they were staying together + they were good friends in real life. 8BallExpress came out victorious but DrGood showed the true meaning of sportsmanship by congratulating his friend to the next round without hesitating for even a second.

 

Boosted- got a BYE win due to one of the players not being able to show up to the tournament. Boosted- played against Axle312 in the 2nd round, who just knocked out one of the top contenders, Randoodskeez. In this match, Axle312 displayed amazing resiliency and made one of the greatest combacks in the history of GNGWC by making a birdie from the Green Edge to tie the score with Boosted- on the very last hole. Axle312 made a great play on the Sudden Death Match to secure the win and the ticket to South Korea. Hope he had a blast celebrating his win with his beautiful wife and daughter. =] 

 

With his son, Ken, supporting for him, Bigsleazy made some great plays until he was knocked out of the tournament after a gruesome free-for-all match with Dachet1lan and Boosted-. When we had a technical difficulty with the sound system on some of the computers, Bigsleazy happily volunteered to play without any sound and for this, Shot Online Team would like to give him a big thank you.(and a sincere apology) 

 

At the end, the top 2 contenders were 8BallExpress and Axle312. These two had to play their last game with DrGood commentating in-front of the entire audience. Despite the pressure and all the distractions, both of these players did not shy away from showing their amazing skills and sportsmanship on the final match. 

 

8BallExpress won the GNGWC 2012 NA Regional Finals once again and proved that he is still the best player in North America. 8BallExpress with Axle312 and Dachet1lan, will be representing the Global Service to compete against the top contenders of each region/service in Busan, South Korea in just a few weeks from now.

 

I'd like to represent Shot Online Team and thank all the galleries that came out to support their friends and family. (Big props to Hpotter and Bigsleazy's son for competing in the event tournament and big thank you to all the players for letting them join the event tournament! It made the tournament much more fun to watch. =]) 

 

There were so many great moments during GNGWC 2012, I can probably go on and on about it... It was definitely one of the most memorable moments in my life and I just can't emphasize more on how amazing our players played and how professional they behaved at the tournament. 

 

I know a lot of players wanted to watch the tournament so next year, if I get the chance to be there again next year, I will do my best to set up a live-stream for all the games. 

 

If there is one thing I would like to be done for the next GNGWC, I'd love to see some new / more faces! With E-Sport getting a lot more attention now days and I'd love to see more passionate players who are trying to be the best at what they enjoy doing.
