With the exciting end of the Shell Houston Open, Anthony Kim has taken first place after the playoff round with Vaughn Taylor on Hole 18.  Coming to the end of the 4^th round, both Anthony Kim and Vaughn Taylor were tied for first putting them in a playoff for first place and a prize earning of $1,044,000. Although Anthony Kim couldn’t hold onto lead during Round 4, he did capitalize during the playoff round taking the victory and the purse winning. In the playoff, Anthony Kim had a great drive down the right side of the fairway while Vaughn Taylor struggled and drove into the fairway bunker missing the right fairway. Still struggling, Taylor’s second shot put him into the bunker once again leaving Kim with an advantage and the victory in sight. Anthony Kim’s second shot put him over the ridge and onto the second level of the green which would lead him to the victory putt. A victory for Kim was in grasp while Taylor’s victory was slowly slipping away after making such a great comeback during the 4^th round tying Kim for first. Putting just inside 30 feet, Anthony Kim's nails the putt making him in first place.  His first top victory since 2008. With a heart breaking loss for Vaughn Taylor after having such a great 4^th round chasing Kim for the victory, both players put on a great show and game.

 

With the Master’s around the corner, Anthony Kim could be a great contender if he can continue to putt how he did mostly throughout the Shell Houston Open.Tiger Woods is also making his come back at the same time which will make this one exciting event.
