SO Community,

We will be having a special event in helping with the research of ALS. Join us in a good cause to the research towards a cure for ALS. We will be donating $1000 to Driving 4 Life who is teamed up with ALS TDI. With the help of players who participate, we have the chance at doubling the donation. Participate for a good cause and have some fun playing a good round of golf. Help raise money in finding a cure for ALS by simply joining us in this event.

This event will not cost you anything to join. Just participate in this tournament style event and have a good time. Turn in your score card when you are finished and you are all set. The donations will be going to Driving4Life, "Americaa's premier fundraising campaign supporting ALS research through the game of golf."

All funds raised through Driving 4 Life supports ALS research efforts at ALS TDI (formerly the ALS Therapy Development Institute), a non profit biotech.

What is ALS?
Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS), commonly known as Lou Gehrig's disease, is a progressive neurodegenerative disease that attacks motor neurons in the brain (upper motor neurons) and spinal cord (lower motor neurons). These motor neurons control the movement of voluntary muscles. When the motor neurons can no longer send impulses to the muscles due to ALS, the muscles begin to waste away (atrophy), causing increased muscle weakness. The death of motor neurons, or nerve cells, makes it impossible for the brain to control muscles or signal them to move.
