Hello Shot Online Players!

We are happy to announce a new event, the Pando Media Beginner Video Contest!!!
The rules are fairly simple, just pick a category from the list below and make a
video that would act as a tutorial for new or beginner players.
Here are the categories:
  • Character Introduction 
    •  
    • Should cover the character creation process
    • How to change selected character, naming, etc.
    • Touch on the differences between the beginning stat setup of the characters
      • What does power do? Impact? Skill? Stamina?
      • What combinations work best and why

  • User Interface/NPC Introduction
    •  
    • Describe and explain the toolbar and it’s various functions
      • Friends list, Character Information screen, etc
    • Show the different options in the menus that can be brought up
      • How to use items in the inventory
      • How to equip items
      • How to use the socket system
    • Explain the various NPC characters and their jobs
      • Potter and the locker system
      • Freya and items
      • Salvador and clubs
      • Clelic and fittings/repairs

  • Square/World Map Introduction
    •  
    • Explain the way the square works
      • How to get around
      • How to adjust your view while in the square
    • Explain the various NPC/Major Area locations on the map
      • Auction House
      • Guild Houses
      • Portals
      • NPC Shops
    • Explain the different chat features and modes
    • Show users how to use the portals to enter different areas such as the Round List
  •  
  • Round List Menu Introduction
  •  
    • Explain how to create a new room
    • Explain how to randomly join a room or join with a room number
    • Explain how to see open rooms and join them
    • Describe the waiting list and what information can be gained from it
    • Show users how to return to the square from the Round List

  • How To Play Introduction
  •  
    • Explain the different modes of play such as foursome, stroke, etc. and their benefits
    • Show users the way different beginner courses look and play
    • Describe the way to check your lie and select the right club for the next shot
    • Explain the various keyboard shortcuts that are found in the help menu
      • How to bring up the grid
      • Using the TAB key to view your landing circle
      • How to bring up the various menus available
      • Etc
 
How it works:

4/1/2011 until 4/24/2011 Event Period

4/1/2011-4/17/2011 Submission Period

Please upload your videos to YouTube and place a link to the video in this forum thread 

4/19/2011 Announcement of 5 finalists

4/19/2011-4/24/2011 Community poll will run so you can choose the winners!

So, in a nutshell, from the 1st until the 17th, users can submit videos. On the 19th, we'll pick 5 of the best videos and start a poll on the forums to have users vote for the best one!

Prizes:

1st place: Taylormade R11 driver

2nd place: Titleist 2011 lightweight stand bag

3rd place: Cleveland CG15 Sand wedge (56degree)

4th place: $100 Golfsmith gift card

If you live in the US and win a prize you will be shipped one of the prizes shown on the announcement. If you live outside the US and win a prize you will get the equivalent of that prize's value added to your account in CCs. 

For example, the driver is worth $399. So you would get $400 in CCs put onto your account for winning.
