Introductions are in order!

Date Apr 15, 2014 Views 11,101
Hello World!

Orlus here! I am very happy to introduce myself as the new acting Producer of Shot Online! I will be taking over in all publishing tasks for Shot Online. I will be handling sales plans, events, and scheduling from here on out. I'm coming into Shot Online a bit surprised, and very quickly, so please bear with me while I learn the ropes!

Getting to know Orlus:

There are a few things I want to bring up regarding Shot Online, given it's long history, but before that some history about myself:

I have now come full circle in the gaming industry, when I first started in publishing, I was hired as a Community Manager for none other than Shot Online, which was at the time being channeled by GPotato, I learned so much, both about the game and how communities work. Keep in mind this was nearly 7 years ago and the game was still pretty new, so most of what I knew is now out of date, so I'll be working hard to get back up to speed!

I then went on to be a Community Manager for varied MMORPGs like Corum, Rappelz, and Luna Online. I worked my way up to Producer and moved through a few companies and finally arrived here at OnNet, where I was hired as producer for World Tour Fishing. Following it's launch, I was granted this great opportunity to lead Shot Online, with the help from [GM]Snow, [GM]Thrill, and the SOM's.

In the coming weeks, I will be focusing hard on learning everything I can, from both the technical end, like learning procedures and details about the game, sales, events, as well as perspective, like player experience, state of the game, and community opinion and attitude.

Looking Forward with Shot Online:

In regards to player perspective, I know there are a lot of strong opinions on Shot Online, which is inevitable given the longevity of the game. It is a game that we all love, and want the best for, and I know player opinion is incredibly important, which is one of the big reasons I'm introducing myself. I can see by the current plan in place that things have become rather formulaic and there are issues that are often over looked. It will be my goal to address these issues, and give Shot Online a (pardon the horrible pun) SHOT in the arm. I want Shot Online to become the community I know it can be, and that can only be done with open honest discussion.

I as well as the Shot Online GM's are committing to a more open dialogue between players and staff, we'll be having more forum presence as well as sharing more information with you directly.

Forum Changes for the Better:

To Further help promote this new sense of community, the first largely noticeable change will be seen right here on our forums. Right off the bat, I realized that I had no idea where to post this thread, the layot of forum is not great for getting the word out to the entire community.

In the coming days, we will be revamping the forum layout, which means, certain forums will be changed, removed or merged. Your post count will not be affected, although some of your posts in the past may not be visible.

The Forum Layout will be discussed in more Detail here: ( Click Here )

What and When to expect:

As we look forward to new ideas, positive change, and more discussion, keep in mind, that plans for Shot Online, are arranged somewhat far ahead of time, so there will be some overlap time where changes won't be as evident, but I promise you that new ideas are in the works and on the way.

I'd like to hear from you both in introducing yourself and also what you think Shot Online needs, and what you want from Shot Online! Thank you so much for taking your time to be here with us!
